(KMS) key management service. KMS uses a host computer to establish an activation service on the local network of your company. With a KMS host, it is possible to activate thousands of computers at the same time provided that they connect on a regular basis to the company network. If you use a KMS host to activate Windows, you can use it to activate Office 2010.
Multiple activation (MAK) key. With MAK, each team activates Office 2010 with Microsoft's hosted activation servers over the Internet or by telephone. MAK is recommended when it must be activated within 50 teams and on those computers that do not connect regularly to the company network.
